Our Story

Hi, we're Jodie and Des Berryman. Between us we have a busy family and an even busier worklife — seven kids and two grandkids, to be exact. The older five have flown the nest, but they don't get any less expensive or demanding once they do.Our youngest, Holly, is 11. She's high-level autistic, intellectually impaired, and completely non-verbal — so we know first-hand how tough this journey can get, and how much it can ask of a family. Amaze Abilities was founded out of that experience: a passion for our own children and the individual paths each of them has had to take. That's also where the frustration behind our name comes from. The NDIS is meant to open doors, but for so many participants and families, it feels like a maze instead — full of jargon, plan reviews, and "who do I even call for that?" moments. We've lived that maze ourselves. So we built Amaze Abilities to be the guide we wished existed: a team that sits beside you, translates the system and connects you with support that actually fits your life. Everything we've learned raising Holly, and everything our family has been through, shapes how we show up for yours.
